In the Book of Joshua, chapter three, it speaks of Israel crossing the Jordan River. Verse 1, “Then Joshua rose early in the morning and they set out from Shittim.” Yea you read that right, “Shittim.”
History lesson about Shittim, it sucked, end of story.
What’s crazy about this story is that Joshua and the people of Israel actually had been camped out there. Why would they set up camp in such a desolate, lifeless place? Maybe they had no other option. Maybe it was just life's circumstances.
Sometimes, we camp out in places we were never intended to stay in. We camp out in negativity. We camp out in depression. We camp out in addiction. We camp out in selfishness. We camp out in anger. We camp out in bad relationships. We set up camp and say, only for a night. One night turns into two, which turns into a week, and some people end up never leaving.
It’s time to pick up camp and move on. Take the stakes out of the ground. Put out the fire. Grab your things and GO. There is a place destined for us by our creator.
Don’t camp out in a place God called you to pass through.
Positivity: The practice of being or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude.
I've been wearing my Positive Times gear for a few weeks now. Ever since, I have been rockin it at work, at home, and everywhere else. Now, the joke around work is calling me Mr. Positive. I choose to be positive. The other day at work, tension was high and I got upset. One of the workers said, "Hey Mr. Positive look down at your shirt." Seeing that logo was a simple reminder to change my attitude. I got angry, but I didn't camp out there. I was upset, but I didn't put up a tent. I kept my perspective positive and just kept going.
Being positive is a choice. Choose to radiate positivity. When you do, you change the atmosphere and bring comfort and hope to those around you. Look at the news. Look at the divorces, the changing of jobs, relational and self-abuse, addictions... This world is hurt and angry. This world needs positivity. It needs YOU to be positive. It needs YOU to be the catalyst of change. Our country needs it. Our states need it. Our families need it. Our work places need it. Negativity is a cancer. Negativity steals our worship. Negativity is a camp you can't live in for long. Choose to not camp out in places that deter you from God-led destinations.
